Isle of Skye Elopements

We are the Sassenachs – Isle of Skye Elopement Photographers. We help couples, just like you, from all over the world have their dream elopement on the Isle of Skye and whilst we are at it, create beautiful imagery that you can treasure for the rest of your life.

Take a moment to close your eyes and picture the scene.

It’s finally here. You’ve arrived on Skye, reached your accommodation and tomorrow is your elopement day. What does your day look like? How do you feel?

Whether you already have a clear vision for your Isle of Skye elopement, or you’re looking for inspiration, we’re here to help.

We believe that great elopement imagery is created by working together – both the couple and the photographers. We will talk in the lead-up to your marriage to discuss everything about your photography. You could decide you want your photos to be bright, airy and fun. Or dark, moody and romantic.

Will you brave the elements to capture amazing images or wait out the storm in the comfort of a hotel whilst capturing those intimate moments? Maybe it is the place that you fell in love or perhaps you are planning an Isle of Skye wedding as your first visit! Whatever your reasons may be, we believe that its unique, untamed and wild landscape will form the ideal backdrop to your wedding images.

Your Photos Matter

YEARS FROM NOW, YOU’LL HOLD YOUR ISLE OF SKYE WEDDING IMAGES IN YOUR HANDS AND FEEL LIKE YOU’RE OPENING A BOOK

Your images are your story, your history. Your adventure on Skye

And this book will draw you back to not just the events of the day, but the emotions. The true colour of the sky and clouds and the way you laughed when your partner grabbed you tight. The wind playing with the hem of your dress and the moment you looked at your new spouse and were overwhelmed with the everythingness of the moment.

All of it, there in your hands and in your
memories because of your photos.

ELOPEMENTS ON SKYE

“We’ve already looked through the pictures multiple times and we are so in love with them! I know both of our parents will love them as much as we do.

Andy and I are so grateful to have found you for our pictures. Thank you for the incredible experience, wonderful support, and extraordinary photos to remember this once in a lifetime event.

We are forever grateful to you”

– Laura and Andy, Isle of Skye

"Seriously, their skill cannot be overstated"

Matt & Jodie’s photography caught my attention immediately. Beautiful, moody, intimate, and candid all within a breathtaking landscape. Seriously, their skill cannot be overstated.

They were kind enough to help us to decide on the best location for our ceremony and brought smiles and laughter to every Zoom call as well as the wedding day. Those beautiful photos are a combination of skill, experience, and the ability to make people feel comfortable.

A little bit about skye...

The Isle of Skye is named after the old Norse language and is said to mean “Cloud Island” or ‘Misty Island”. The island’s original name was Eilean a’ Cheò, which means “Island of Mist” in Gaelic.

The history of Skye dates back over 5,000 years and it first appeared on maps as early as 900AD. According to Britannica, Skye was occupied in prehistoric times and settled by Gaelic-speaking Scots from Ireland during the first centuries BCE. Norsemen ruled the island from the 9th to the 12th century.

One of the most popular sights on Skye is The Old Man of Storr, a dramatic rock formation which stands 719 feet tall and is believed to have been created by an ancient giant. You can also see striking waterfalls such as the Fairy Pools or visit awe-inspiring sites like Kilt Rock which looks like it’s wearing a tartan kilt!

Whether you’re looking for adventurous outdoor activities, amazing mountain views, stunning wildlife or just some peace and tranquillity away from your busy life, The Isle of Skye will not disappoint. So why not elope to one of Scotland’s hidden gems?

"The pictures and the video are simply amazing!"

We hired Matt and Jodie as our elopement photographers, and we couldn’t have chosen any better! They made our day truly special. We did not have any experience with photoshoots and were quite nervous about it. However, they somehow managed to make us feel comfortable and at ease during the shoot and we had a lot of fun.

The pictures and the video are simply amazing! If you have the chance, do not hesitate to book with them. You won’t regret it! And try to climb a mountain with them. It’s great, even (or should I say especially?) in a wedding dress!
