Because there’s a lot that could go wrong. The location you found on Instagram might be heaving with tourists. The weather could turn. You might spend your entire wedding day stressed, confused, and wishing someone — anyone — actually knew what they were doing.
That’s not going to happen. Not with us.
We’ve done this hundreds of times
We’re not wedding photographers who occasionally shoot an elopement. This is all we do.
We live in Scotland. We’ve spent over a decade learning this landscape — the hidden glens, the light, the weather patterns, the spots that photograph beautifully and the “famous” ones that are actually disappointing.
We know which locations will be empty and which will be swarming with coach tours. We know where the sun sets in every season. Matt can tell when rain is coming just from the air pressure (seriously).

This means more time on each image. When we’re not rushing through hundreds of photos, we can spend five times longer on every single frame. That’s the difference between a quick tweak and real, considered editing — the kind where we’re crafting each image until it’s exactly right.

Questions you’re probably asking
What’s the difference between the packages in practice?
The Photography Only package is for couples who’ve already sorted their celebrant, florist, accommodation, and legal paperwork — you just need someone brilliant behind the camera on the day. The Sassenachs package is for couples who want us involved from the start, helping shape the whole thing. Most of our couples choose the full experience because they’re planning from thousands of miles away and want someone local in their corner.
Do you offer shorter coverage or smaller packages?
No. What we do best is capture the whole story — not just the ceremony, but the morning nerves, the quiet moments, the celebration afterwards. A two-hour shoot doesn’t give us (or you) space to do that properly.
Do you travel anywhere in Scotland?
Everywhere on the mainland, yes — and travel is included in the price. We no longer photograph on Skye because it’s become too busy. Your ceremony deserves a bit of privacy.
Can we legally get married in Scotland?
Absolutely. And we’ll guide you through every step. Most of our couples come from the US or Canada, and we know the paperwork, timelines, and options inside out. Full details here.
Do we need to pay in pounds?
Nope. Our booking system handles currency conversion automatically, so you’ll always know exactly what you’re paying — no surprises.
What if the weather is terrible?
Welcome to Scotland. Honestly, some of our favourite photos have come from “terrible” weather — moody skies, dramatic clouds, rain that makes everything feel cinematic. We’ll work with it, find shelter when you need it, and make sure you still have an incredible day.
How many photos will I get?
We don’t know. But we only deliver the images we need to tell the story of your day beautifully. Every image in your gallery will be one you actually want to look at — no filler, no duplicates, no scrolling past dozens of nearly-identical shots. Quality over quantity, always.
