andy and giulia’s
cuil bay, glencoe elopement

Some of our favourite elopements are the last minute ones.
The ones where our couple contacts us 6 weeks before with an idea of eloping but not much plan beyond that. There is just something so damn exciting about the rush of arranging an elopement that quickly although we do know that it isn’t for everyone! But it was for Andy and Giulia.
They are just the most gorgeous couple living in England (although Giulia is originally Italian – we think the Italian style shines through too!) and about to embark on a new life in mainland Europe – just them, the dog and a camper van (and a few belongings we guess!) But they wanted their Scottish elopement before they left – so that’s what they did.
The opted for a ceremony at the often-overlooked Cuil bay just a few miles from Glencoe. Cuil bay is situated on the Southern Shore of the sea loch of Loch Linnhe with amazing mountain views all round. We spend a lot of time there with the kids in the summer but this was our first elopement ceremony there.
Being January, it was cold. Really, bloody cold. So bloody cold that Guilia had to use her nose to move the screen of her phone whilst reading her vows as her fingers were no longer working. After the ceremony we headed on up to Glencoe to capture some couples portraits beneath the snow capped Glencoe mountains.
Big shout out to Alyson the Humanist and Andy and Guilia for braving the ridiculous cold. But what a day!
