The adventure of a lifetime.
With guides who’ve done it over 200 times.
You’re about to do something incredible
You’re planning to fly thousands of miles to a country you might never have visited, to marry your favourite person in one of the most beautiful landscapes on earth.
It’s exciting. It’s romantic. It’s the adventure of a lifetime.
And if we’re being honest? It’s probably a little bit terrifying.
Because there’s a lot that could go wrong. The location you found on Instagram might be heaving with tourists. The weather could turn. You might spend your entire wedding day stressed, confused, and wishing someone — anyone — actually knew what they were doing.
That’s not going to happen. Not with us.
We’ve done this hundreds of times
We’re not wedding photographers who occasionally shoot an elopement. This is all we do.
We live in Scotland. We’ve spent over a decade learning this landscape — the hidden glens, the light, the weather patterns, the spots that photograph beautifully and the “famous” ones that are actually disappointing.
We know which locations will be empty and which will be swarming with coach tours. We know where the sun sets in every season. Matt can tell when rain is coming just from the air pressure (seriously).
“We trusted them completely and they made the whole experience fun and stress-free. I don’t think there are enough positive words in the dictionary to properly describe what it is to elope in Scotland, let alone to have The Sassenachs be your guides.”

From the moment you book, you stop planning alone
We build your day together
Not a generic template — your day. We’ll talk through what matters to you, find locations that match your vision, and create a shape for the day that feels right without being rigid.
We connect you with the right people
Need a celebrant who’ll make you laugh and cry in equal measure? A florist who can create something wild and romantic? Hair and makeup that’ll survive Scottish weather? We know the best people. We’ll introduce you.
We guide you through the legal stuff
Marriage paperwork in Scotland is surprisingly straightforward, but it helps to have someone who’s walked hundreds of couples through it. We’ll make sure nothing gets missed.
We answer every question
WhatsApp us at midnight because you’re spiralling about shoe choices. Schedule another video call because you want to talk through something again. We’re here. For all of it.
We handle the day-of details you haven’t even thought of yet
Holding your bouquet. Fixing a stray hair. Finding shelter when the rain comes sideways. Making sure you actually eat something. Keeping you calm when the emotions hit.
There is no timeline
Every elopement is different. That’s the whole point.
Some couples want to wake up slowly, take their time getting ready, let the morning breathe. Others want to be out the door at dawn chasing the light. Some want to say their vows and then spend hours exploring. Others want a long, lazy lunch and photos as the sun goes down.
Your day isn’t going to look like anyone else’s. So why would we plan it like it should?
Be wary of any photographer who hands you a minute-by-minute schedule months in advance and expects you to stick to it. How can they possibly know what the weather’s going to do? What if the rain clears at 4pm and suddenly there’s the most incredible light? Are you going to miss it because the spreadsheet says you should be at dinner?
We have a shape for the day — a sense of when things need to happen to catch the best light, to make sure hair and makeup are done, to get you to your ceremony spot at the right moment. But within that? The day unfolds naturally. Gradually. At your pace.
And we’re there the whole time, quietly pulling the strings. Adjusting. Adapting. Reading the weather, the light, the energy. Making suggestions. Solving problems before you even notice them.
If you’re having a moment, we give you space. If the sky suddenly breaks open with golden light, we grab you. If you need five more minutes, you take five more minutes.
The best elopement days don’t feel directed. They feel like they just… happened. Like magic.
That’s not an accident. That’s us, doing our job properly — hopefully without you even noticing.
We’ve guided over 200 couples through this. We’re so obsessed with getting this right that we built the first elopement planning software, now used by photographers all over the world. This isn’t guesswork for us. It’s instinct.
Your only job is to be present. To feel everything. To marry your person in one of the most beautiful places on earth. We’ll handle the rest.
“It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and I couldn’t imagine doing it with any other photographers. They made us feel so comfortable and captured our day perfectly.”

You won’t get 500 photos
And you shouldn’t want to.
Think about the things you value most. Your favourite piece of jewellery. A beautiful piece of art. That one item in your wardrobe you’ll never throw away. You don’t have dozens of them. You have one. Maybe two. That’s what makes them precious.
We used to deliver 400+ images per elopement. It felt generous. It’s what everyone does. But over time, we noticed something.
Couples would tell us they loved their photos. But when we asked which ones they’d printed, which ones they’d framed — it was always the same answer. Three or four. Maybe ten. Out of hundreds.
The rest sat on a hard drive, unopened. 500 photos sounds impressive, but when you have to scroll through 50 nearly-identical images to find the one you actually love, the magic disappears. It becomes work. And eventually, you just… stop looking.
So we changed everything.
Here’s the truth: fewer images means more time on each one. When we’re not rushing through hundreds of photos, we can spend five times longer on every single frame. That’s the difference between a quick tweak and real, considered editing — the kind where we’re crafting each image until it’s exactly right.
You’ll receive 80-120 images. Hand-selected. Meticulously edited. Every single frame chosen because it earns its place in your story. No filler. No duplicates. No “we included everything just in case.”
This is a considered, curated collection — not a data dump.
It takes confidence to edit a day down to its essence. To look at 2,000 raw frames and say “these 100 are the ones.” But that’s our job. And we’d rather do it properly than hand you a hard drive and leave you to figure out what’s good.
The result? A gallery where every image stops you. Where you don’t scroll past anything. Where thirty years from now, you’re not wading through folders — you’re holding a collection of photographs that still make you feel something.
That’s not less. That’s more.
One package. Everything included.

Questions you’re probably asking
Do you offer shorter coverage or smaller packages?
No. What we do best is capture the whole story — not just the ceremony, but the morning nerves, the quiet moments, the celebration afterwards. A two-hour shoot doesn’t give us (or you) space to do that properly.
Do you travel anywhere in Scotland?
Everywhere on the mainland, yes — and travel is included in the price. We no longer photograph on Skye because it’s become too busy. Your ceremony deserves a bit of privacy.
Can we legally get married in Scotland?
Absolutely. And we’ll guide you through every step. Most of our couples come from the US or Canada, and we know the paperwork, timelines, and options inside out.
Do we need to pay in pounds?
Nope. Our booking system handles currency conversion automatically, so you’ll always know exactly what you’re paying — no surprises.
What if the weather is terrible?
Welcome to Scotland. Honestly, some of our favourite photos have come from “terrible” weather — moody skies, dramatic clouds, rain that makes everything feel cinematic. We’ll work with it, find shelter when you need it, and make sure you still have an incredible day.
Why only 80-120 images?
Because that’s all you need to tell the story of your day beautifully. Every image in your gallery will be one you actually want to look at — no filler, no duplicates, no scrolling past dozens of nearly-identical shots. Quality over quantity, always.
Ready to stop planning alone?
No awkward sales pitch. No pressure. Just a conversation to see if we’re the right fit.
