about us
We are jodie and Matt
Our business cards say photography, but that doesn’t quite sum it up. We’re also… your witnesses, guides, hairpin wranglers and raincoat holders. Most importantly, though, we’re yours for this time.
You are sharing one of the most important days of your lives with us, and that’s something we take seriously. (Take seriously…while also mucking about with you and keeping things laidback because who wants to spend all day with photographers who take themselves too seriously? Not us.)

(n.) (Gaelic)
A Sassenach is a non-Gaelic speaker from the Scottish Lowlands or England (or, you know, anywhere that’s not the Highlands).
It is, in effect, an Outlander.

We messed up
We didn't do the elopement thing...
The wedding industry often steers you away from breaking the mold and embracing the choice to elope. When you find yourselves engaged, the automatic assumption seems to be an invitation extended to your extended family and an entourage of 200 friends. Bridesmaids and groomsmen, table decor becomes the most important thing in the world and the seating plan carefully curated – it's the anticipated script. We fell in to that trap over 10 years ago and have regretted it since.
Yes, the decision to elope might feel daunting. But that's precisely why you've found your way here.
You're not ones to settle for the norm, the default. You don't let others' expectations call the shots for your life's decisions. You're not content with simply following "the way things are always done.". And we love that. And we want to support you every single step of the way.

guilty pleasure
Cocktails. We go to Edinburgh a lot for work and when we do we sometimes have to stay over and have cocktails. For research purposes, you understand?

hobbies
When not parenting (is that even a hobby?!) You'll find us paddleboarding or wild swimming. Matt often does both at the same time... not on purpose

meal
Greek Food. Or Italian. Or Indian. Or Chinese....
OK, you probably get the picture... we like food.

Dogs. To be honest, its not even really a contest, is it?! (That cute little fella above is Simba, btw)

Showing our clients the back of the camera and hearing them say "Oh, wow!"

Our clients are seekers of beauty, lovers of travel, with a taste for adventure and sea salt in their hair.
Our clients want to escape the ordinary and break away from tradition.
They are looking for an adventure of a lifetime with their best friend by their side and they want imagery that will remind them of that story for the rest of their lives.
