Thinking about having a Glen Etive Elopement? We’ve got you covered!

So Glen Etive isn’t technically Glencoe. But, for most people, it is one and the same and that is why I have included it within our Glencoe Elopement Photography section so bear with me!

One of the most amazing Glens in Scotland (and there are quite a few!) Glen Etive is right next to Glen Coe. The most photographed mountain in Scotland, Buachaille Etive Mor, stands proud guarding the entrance to the Glen. Famous for being the location of Skyfall in the James Bond film of the same name as well as one of the filming locations for Braveheart starring Mel Gibson.

The area is a vast stretch of land composed of blanket bog, lochans, rivers, and rocky outcrops which makes it a very unique environment which still supports varieties of flora and fauna. A wealth of plants, insect, bird and animal life can be seen here ranging from curlews and grouse to roe and red deer.

It is one of those places in Scotland that just feels “wild”.

To get here, turn left just past the Kinghouse House Hotel on the A82. Please note that Glen Etive is a no-through road with no amenities such as shops or petrol stations so make sure you are prepared before heading down here.

There are plenty of wild deer in the Glen and you are likely to see them all year round. We do not recommend feeding the door or attempting to take a photo close by to the deer.
